The Question?
Presumably I feel threatened by it?
Why am I so obsessed about demonstrating the partialness of Humanism?
How can I resolve this for myself?
How can I have my mis-givings be a contribution to the community, instead of an irritation?
Why is it that I can't stand Humanism?
It is because they are philosophically misguided, and they think they are being so "rational"
They think their thinking is so advanced whereas in fact they are 20 or 30 years behind philosophically
Or maybe 300 years behind
Elaboration
What would such a "being right" even amount to?
There doesn't seem to be any straightforward way of determining whether I'm right about the humanists
How can I come to a conclusion about that question?
Could it be that I am the ignorant one?
Clarification
I simply have an #intuition that they are misguided
For this intuition to amount to anything I would need to #clarify in what way they are #misguided
R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
Is it because they don't give me the respect I feel like I deserve?
Perhaps I don't behave in a way that merits respect?
Doesn't everybody deserve respect?

"If you're going to start your pursuit of truth by swallowing a bunch of lies, how are you going to get anywhere with that?" ~ J. Peterson
The definition of God that Jordan Peterson provided Sam Harris during their first Vancouver talk : JordanPeterson
Does atheism have a hierarchy of values? If yes, what value or virtue is at the top?
God is a "fiction" discussion

In some way it is related
Facebook conversation with Philippe van Nedervelde
What is it that Philippe and Andrew disagree about?
It isn't immediately obvious
Both P and A appear on first blush to be comfortable with not troubling themselves with the metaphysical argument
Philippe seems to want to equate "fiction" with "falsehood" ... that seems to be straight-forwardly and obviously wrong
... or has Andrew just misunderstood what it is that Philippe is asserting?
Which one has misunderstood the other, or perhaps have they both?
Is the argument worth persuing? Is it worth investigating? Or is it just men trying to make each other wrong?
Stories are not often or easily reducible to atoms ... not in a useful way
Stories vs. Atoms
Might it be possible to have a "science of story-telling"?
It's not obvious how science would be able to do this?
Stories tell us things about how we could or should live our lives.
Do we already have something of this sort? ...
in our hurry to conquer nature and death we have made a new religion of science
